Bite the Hand That Feeds
You

Performance instillation for HER Studios and Exgirlfriend
Gallery, Berlin

The fixed points of the hands arranged into common symbols contrasts the constantly morphing body that performs Butoh with clay. The performer is both made from the material that surrounds them, and seeks to constantly reshape it into new forms, new bodies, only to eventually return to the material from which it came.

Based on a text I wrote of non-sequitors relating to my research on object-ontology. The butoh sequence followed a simple teleology: birth. life, death, in a cycle.

As I often work with photography this performance was also an expression of my interest in composition, lighting and scenography.
